Like you, I have learned to fix things myself, not just motorcycle engines, but everything else mechanical and having re-built two Honda 4 cylinder 4 stroke engines as well as a Triumph 2 cylinder 4 stroke engine I definitely have a pretty decent understanding how these things work.
But even now, one learns something new all the time.
It never pays to pretend to know something you do not know – it will catch up with you sooner or later.
