Seeing more an more Dual Over Head Cam DOHC CB750′s get the Cafe or Chopper treatment. Here’s a pretty sweet Chopper version. I have to wonder how many chopper guys don’t want to see cafes and how many cafe guys have distaste for Choppers? Me I like anything you ride and spin wrenches on. Our pal Martin said it well… comparing these types of machines is just not right, its like comparing saws an hammers different tools different applications. I’ve been a bike guy through and through since my teens but my roots are in hot rodding and some of my best memories as a kid are wrenching with my Dad Bear Sr. aka “The Tin Man” So I’m pretty excited about this 57 Ford he just picked up. He’s getting close to retirement so its time for a new Hot Rod! Here’s the story of how me and my brother Billy “Caboose” ended up running a bike business and not a hot rod shop. It all comes down to power to weight ratios, the price of hot rods in the 80′s and 90′s and the fact that we could blow the doors off any car on a 30 year old bike for under 2K. Who remembers this line “LET THE WILD RUMPUS START” Once again you guys can call me SOFT for this post but remember like I said only in the middle… Today Maurice Sendak author of “Where the wild Things Are” died. First published in 1963 this children’s book of only 338 words was an instant classic. If it was not a child hood book for you maybe you read it to your kids. I think the images in this book and its rebellious nature marked me as a boy. I know there was a moral in there somewhere but I just remember running away to party. “LET THE WILD RUMPUS START” I will be reading a copy tonight with a few Corona’s. Long live Maurice Sendak and the wild rumpus!
